Barre antistatique EX 1250
1250
Static Eliminator Bar
The EX1250 Bar is a high performance static
eliminator with ATEX certification for use in
hazardous areas.
The EX1250 is suitable for Zone I and Zone 2
hazardous areas. Please see certification
details on page 2.
Benefits and Advantages
• The EX1250 is part the Fraser 1250 family of static eliminators, which offer market-leading reliability and performance
• The EX1250 has a resistively coupled design for neutralising high charges at fast speeds.
• Maximum ionisation performance in a hazardous area.
• Stay-sharp etched emitters for better long term performance. Life 5 years +. Non-infectious.
• Emitters at 15mm pitch provide more ionisation and so better neutralisation.
• Robust construction, but compact and easy to install. Swivel screw-in cable connectors.
• Operating distance up to 150mm. Best distance for high speeds and high charges 25 - 50mm.
• Washable and suitable for food, medical and pharmaceutical applications.
• Optional remote function monitoring showing status of high voltage and whether Bars require cleaning.

Remote Function Monitor for Power Unit
The Remote Function Monitor measures the high voltage output and indicates if there is a fault which results in no ionisation. The fault could be:
A) in the mains supply
B) a short in the Bar or cable
C) a fault in the power unit
D) Bars require cleaning
If there is a fault in the EX1250 Bar the Power Unit will shut down for safety reasons - it is current limited to 5mA.
It also indicates if the Bars require cleaning
The electronic circuitry for the Remote Function Monitor (RFM) is on a PCB mounted inside the Power Unit. It does not need any additional power source.
The connector on the Power Unit can give a no volt signal which can go to an alarm or PLC on the machine. There is a choice of logic options available. See below.
EX715
Static Meter
The EX715 Static Meter has been
developed to investigate industrial static
electricity problems and has been certified
for use in hazardous areas.
Its accuracy, stability and ease of use
make it the leading instrument in its class.
Benefits and Advantages
• The EX715 is certified for use in hazardous area Zones 1 and 2.
See page 2 for details of ATEX and IECEx certification.
• The EX715 measures static electricity on the surface of a material, at a distance of 100mm.
• The meter can show where and how the static is generated, its magnitude and its polarity. This gives the engineer a scientific basis for his/her analysis.
• The EX715 monitors the effectiveness of the action taken to solve the problem. If the solution involves static control equipment, the EX715 shows its most effective position.
• The EX715 allows the engineer to set standards to avoid future problems. These can range from an acceptable level of charge in the hazardous area, to charge levels in products being produced by the process.
• The EX715 has two ranges selected by a slide switch on the side of the case. The high range measures up to 200kV with a resolution of 100V. The low range measures up to 20kV with a resolution of 10V.
• Hold facility to freeze the reading on the LCD.
Applications
Static electricity is a potential problem in many industrial areas. It slows production, reduces product quality, attracts contaminants and gives shocks to operators. It is a well-known phenomenon throughout the plastics, packaging, electronics, paper, medical, pharmaceutical and textile industries - in fact in every area that processes or handles non-conductive materials.
In industries which use solvents, explosives or other materials with a low minimum ignition energy level, static can create the additional hazard of fire and explosion risks.
The EX715 enables the engineer to investigate these risks with safety and integrity.
